Dear Friends of German Comedy,
I hope you’ve all had a splendid start to the year!
A five-week wait for the first bulletin of the year might seem unduly long but I am following the government’s example by taking my time to trigger the ‘send’ button in order to make sure I deliver the best possible Monthly Bulletin.
There’s obviously a fine line between taking time and wasting it and seven months just to call a vote in the House of Commons on “Do we want to ignore the referendum result – yes or no” might constitute the latter.
But don’t worry: slow progress certainly isn’t purely a British disease. Berlin’s new airport was meant to open in 2011 but since then opening dates come and go. Last month it was announced that it won’t open in 2017 either. It’s an absolute embarrassment but on the plus side there’s constant employment for assorted builders and consultants.
As they used to say on German building sites:
Auf Wiedersehen Pet and have a great month
Henning
PS: Please find a list of upcoming gigs below. It would be great to see you at one of those.
