Dear Friends of German Comedy,
I’m sure we’ve all been enjoying this month so far. To bastardise an old bon mot: ‘when a man is tired of Brexit news coverage, he is tired of life’.
No matter where you stand on the debate, no-one can deny it’s really exciting. Last week was the best in ages.
We were being promised the excitement of a vote on the final deal last Tuesday only to see it being postponed at the last minute. Boo! Admittedly, the postponement itself provided a good bit of entertainment but I still went to bed feeling slightly disappointed.
But not for long! By the time I woke up the PM’s own party had been calling a vote of no-confidence in her leadership! Radio 4’s Today programme even ran for an extra 15 minutes. That’s the promised Brexit dividend right here!
And to all them spoilsports whinging about uncertainty and the weakness of Pound Sterling: I have teamed up with venues across the country, which will exchange your money for show tickets. Please find a list of participating venues at the bottom of this email. But leave your gloominess at home!
